You are invited to attend a special presentation by Dr. Vivek Mansingh, President, Voice, Video, Virtualization & Unified Communication groups, Cisco India to be held on the 3rd floor of the new Faculty of Law Building, UWI adjacent to the Mona School of Business at 6pm on Monday, March 14th, 2010. The presentation is titled: "Globalization: Opportunities for Emerging/Developing Countries " and is being jointly hosted by UWI's Dept of Computing and the Mona School of Business.

Dr. Mansingh is much sought after for speaking engagements on “Leadership” at various companies and Universities across the world and is listed as honored professional in the “National Who’s Who for the United States,” in 2000. His professional experience includes Country Head, Dell India R & D Center, and Founder, Exec. VP: ATTI., a subsidiary of Aavid, Santa Clara, CA, USA, which was listed in Fortune magazine’s 100 fastest growing companies in USA, 1999.

In his presentation, Dr. Mansingh will address a range of topics relating to:

* Globalization at Cisco

* India as a Case Study in The New Global R&D Model

* The Role of technology & innovation in emerging markets

 


Dr. Mansingh serves as a Board Member: Servion, Verismo Networks and is a Member of the “Board of Governors”, National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India (One of the top engineering institutions in India). He is also a Charter Member of TIE, “The Indus Entrepreneur”, a worldwide organization for developing entrepreneurship, headquartered in Silicon Valley. His academic credentials include a Ph.D., Queen's University, Kingston, Canada, 1986 and Executive Business Management Program, Stanford University, 1996. Dr. Mansingh has published more than 100 technical papers, and contributed a section “The New Global R&D Model: Critical Success Factors” in a German book “Establishing R&D centers in emerging markets”, in collaboration with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany, published by Gabler Verlag, 2009
